The Lewis Cass Kings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 56-52 win over Southwood. The win was a breath of fresh air for Lewis Cass as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for L.j. Hillis, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Rudd, who scored ten points.
Lewis Cass' win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Southwood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis Cass won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Taylor at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Taylor is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Southwood, they will be playing at home against Whitko at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Whitko focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
