North Central Kansas recap Oct. 16, 2012
Concordia extended the longest winning streak in North Central Kansas this week by beating Colby, 37-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
Concordia led the league in scoring this week after putting up 37 points on the Eagles. Trevor Nordell ran for 114 yards and caught one passes for 33 yards in the win.
Jordan Bosch was the best wideout in the league this week as Clay Center defeated Goodland. Bosch tallied two receptions for 45 yards. Danny Ellis helped Clay Center's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Nathan Gieber put up the best numbers through the air as Tim Lambert's team bested Colby. He had a total of three completions for 71 yards. Gieber's favorite target this week was Alan Garcia, who caught one pass for 35 yards.
Caleb Carson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers beat the Cowboys. He completed six passes for 61 yards and also ran for 61 yards.
Carson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Clay Center defeated Goodland. The 6-foot-2 defensive back pulled down one interception.
Clay Center's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carson has thrown for 422 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Bosch has 11 catches for 181 yards. Carson also leads the league in rushing with 819 yards.
The Panthers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,240 from 5,140. The improvement came about via a 37-6 victory over Chris Gardner's team last week.
