Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Alex Perez stepped things up a notch to give Hialeah the 'W'. Nobody could stop Perez as he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Hialeah: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

Coming up, Perez and Hialeah will square off against Somerset Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will enter the matchup having just beaten Monsignor Pace, so the Thoroughbreds will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
