The Tucker County Mountain Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Tug Valley 42-0 at home. Tucker County's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tucker County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jared Reall, who rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Reall is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Garrett Wilfong was another key contributor, picking up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tucker County pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-7 Hampshire and 3-7 Smithsburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.9% over those games). As for Tug Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Tucker County will take on Williamstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williamstown is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Tug Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
