Caledonia posted their closest victory since March 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hamilton Lions 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Garrett Holloman looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Caledonia's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Conner Black, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Caledonia back to even at 1-1. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caledonia will venture away from home to take on South Pontotoc at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hamilton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
