Two dominant signal callers in Carter Vestermark and Jack Hurst are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Aliso Niguel Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Laguna Beach Breakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Aliso Niguel was fully in charge, breezing past Northwood 42-3. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Timberwolves are ranked 358th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aliso Niguel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Hagins, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one TD. Hagins' longest reception was for an incredible 91 yards. Aliso Niguel also got help from Brody Blasing, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Aliso Niguel proved: they limited Northwood to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Corey Lewis for the heroic effort on defense: he. Aliso Niguel's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.9.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Aliso Niguel, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dane Malloy, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laguna Beach). They blew past Fountain Valley, posting a 63-18 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Breakers, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.
Aliso Niguel better focus on containing Charlie Christian and Grant Regal as the pair were huge in Laguna Beach's win. Christian gained 128 total yards and two touchdowns, while Regal picked up 58 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Regal didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended one pass. Another player making a difference was Brady Stringham, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one score.
Aliso Niguel's record now sits at 5-2. As for Laguna Beach, their record is now 7-0.
Aliso Niguel took their victory against Laguna Beach in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 34-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
