Bingham has gone a perfect 4-0 against Mountain Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Miners will challenge the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bingham comes in on three and Mountain Ridge on five.
Bingham is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Copper Hills: they outscored them in every quarter. The Miners blew past the Grizzlies 34-10 on Friday. That looming 34-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Miners yet this season.
Bingham's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Peterson, who rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Miners also got a significant boost from Tuis Tuikolovatu, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bingham was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge faced Herriman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sentinels took down the Mustangs 24-8.
Mountain Ridge's win came from a few key players Bingham will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tytan Dejong, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in August.
Mountain Ridge's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cole Uluave, Jaxon Brown, and Zach Ofisa, who each picked up one sack apiece. Uluave was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles.
Bingham's record is now 3-5. As for Mountain Ridge, their record now sits at 6-2.
Bingham won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by Mountain Ridge 8-7. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
