Capital took a nine-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Ripley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Hall was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Jadan Bishop was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a  triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Ella Sedosky, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
Capital picked up their first home  victory, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Ripley, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the  loss, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Capital has already played their next matchup,  a  13-2  defeat against Riverside on the 5th. As for Ripley, they will head out to  face off against Roane County  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8  runs per game this season.
