Wicomico pushed their score all the way to 60 last Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 79-60 fall against Bennett.
Mardela suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Bennett, falling 83-28. While losing is never fun, Mardela can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Bennett is ranked 122nd).
Wicomico has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Mardela, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Wicomico against Mardela in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wicomico since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
