Byers is 0-10 against Limon since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Byers Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Limon Badgers at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Byers focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
Byers' recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 55-27 loss at the hands of Stratton. While losing is never fun, Byers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Stratton is ranked 26th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sophie Linnebur, who scored eight points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Cossette Kerns was another key contributor, scoring three points.
Meanwhile, Limon was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 49-48 to Burlington.
Byers has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Limon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Byers came up short against Limon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 48-39. Can Byers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
