Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Lassen Grizzlies walked away with it. They walked away with a 27-14 victory over the Panthers on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Lassen who now have six in a row.
Dathen Moore was his usual excellent self, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Moore was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.
When it comes to explaining why University Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darren Maples. Despite the final result, he rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 71 receiving yards.
The last time Lassen lost on the road was back back in October. Having now won four straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for University Prep, their loss ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Lassen will head out on the road to face off against Orland at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. One thing working in Orland's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. University Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
