Baseball Recap: Sumrall Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sumrall entered their tilt with Greene County on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Bobcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Drew Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Odom, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sumrall's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Greene County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Sumrall will be playing in front of their home fans against Forrest County Agricultural at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greene County, they will head out on the road to square off against Pass Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
