After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Andalusia, The Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-26 victory over Dale County. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Booker T. Washington's six-point performance the matchup before.
Booker T. Washington had a senior duo take command as Joseph Phillips rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries and Adean Glover rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Phillips was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Marquez Daniel did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Booker T. Washington's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.4 points per game. As for Dale County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Booker T. Washington will head out on the road to face off against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike Road will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Dale County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
