The Ignite Athletics Flames will head out on the road to challenge the Rose Hill Christian Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Ignite Athletics was the victim of a rough 60-36 defeat at the hands of New Life Christian Academy. Ignite Athletics has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Ignite Athletics saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Braxton Stricklin, who scored 14 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stricklin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trevor Bailey, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Rose Hill Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 82-44 defeat at the hands of Elliott County.
Ignite Athletics' loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Rose Hill Christian, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
Ignite Athletics ended up a good deal behind Rose Hill Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 56-41. Can Ignite Athletics avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
