Felix Matos Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Phillipsburg's Felix Matos, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Matos made three total tackles, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run.
Phillipsburg pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Matos and Phillipsburg will face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Jackson Jankowicz Leads Hillsborough over Bridgewater-Raritan
Hillsborough was led to victory by Jackson Jankowicz, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Jankowicz rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
Jankowicz must have Bridgewater-Raritan's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Jankowicz saw the Panthers), he rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

Big Game from Genovese As Phillipsburg Won 49-14
Another Phillipsburg player making an appearance on this list is Jett Genovese. He rushed for 83 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 111 yards while completing 75% of his passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 77 yards.
Genovese's next match is against Union on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance. The Stateliners got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Farmers, probably because Genovese had a solid game then too: he threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
