After a string of three wins, the St. Mary's Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-38 to Lincoln. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Mary's has scored all season.
Despite the loss, St. Mary's still got an impressive performance from Daniel Huerta, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Huerta continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. William Weathington was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five assists and two blocks.
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Donez Lindsey out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Merolla, who scored ten points.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will take on Tracy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tracy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against West at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
