In what's become a running theme this season, the Blue Ridge Barons gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hargrave Military Academy 89-61 at home. Winning may never get old, but Blue Ridge sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Blue Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamren Martin, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Dreylan Creasy-Quirindoongo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Hargrave Military Academy still got an impressive performance from Dante Kearse, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. Kearse also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Javon Brooks, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Blue Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Hargrave Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will square off against Virginia Episcopal School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Virginia Episcopal School: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Blue Ridge has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. As for Hargrave Military Academy, they will challenge Eastern Mennonite at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern Mennonite will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
