Cloverleaf won the last time they faced Holy Name, and Evie Barth did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cloverleaf Colts secured a 57-52 W over the Holy Name Green Wave on Saturday thanks in part to Barth, who posted 16 points along with eight steals and five boards. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Shook, who put up five points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks she has posted since back in December of 2023.
Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Cremona, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Cremona is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Noemi Cartagena, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Cloverleaf's record now sits at 9-1. As for Holy Name, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cloverleaf will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Norton at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. As for Holy Name, they will venture away from home to face off against Garrett Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th.
