Davenport stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 78-24 win over Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at home. Davenport's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Davenport had a senior duo take command as Sorayah Emilien scored 22 points and Destiny Kim scored 20 points. Emilien is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Jeleyna Britton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Lake Region had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-46 win over DeSoto County.
Davenport's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lake Region, they pushed their record up to 7-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Davenport came up short against Lake Region when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 44-39.
