This season hasn't been kind to the Oberlin The Phoenix , who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were the victim of a rough 63-38 loss at the hands of Columbia on Tuesday. Oberlin lost against Columbia in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-52 score last time.
Several The Phoenix players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carmello Williams, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Green, who scored eight points.
Oberlin's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Columbia, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oberlin will take on Central Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will be playing at home against Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
