The Holland Patent Golden Knights will head out on the road to take on the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Holland Patent's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Last Wednesday, Holland Patent's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 67-53 victory over Oneida. Given Holland Patent's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Oneida is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Whitesboro by a score of 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Vernon-Verona-Sherrill has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Atticus Roque, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That was a full 39.6% of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Degaragen Paradis, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

Holland Patent took their victory against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 83-57.
