The Bluegrass United Bluehawks will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Anderson County Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Burgin scored an imposing 65 points on Thursday, Bluegrass United still came out on top. Bluegrass United skirted past the Bulldogs 67-65.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluegrass United to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Stiefel, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Stiefel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy King, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Anderson County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Western Hills 70-42 at home. That looming 70-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Anderson County yet this season.
Bluegrass United now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Anderson County, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Bluegrass United was dealt a bruising 59-32 loss at the hands of the Bearcats in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Bluegrass United avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
