The East Mountain Timberwolves will square off against the Santa Fe Indian Braves at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in East Mountain's favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Santa Fe Indian has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, East Mountain made easy work of Bosque and carried off a 17-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Dalton Springall made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Charles Birdwell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of East Mountain's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ty Rector, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
East Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bosque only posted a batting average of .176.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Indian extended their postseason success on Saturday against Hatch Valley. They had just enough and edged out the Bears 8-7. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Dontrell Aguilar, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Kellin Tsosie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
East Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Fe Indian, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. East Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Santa Fe Indian struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Mountain took their victory against Santa Fe Indian in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
