The Shenandoah Zeps''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Caldwell on the road and fell 37-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shenandoah in their matchups with Caldwell: they've now lost three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Caldwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Petry, who picked up 47 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Cale Bender was another key contributor, throwing for 146 yards and three touchdowns.
Shenandoah's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Shenandoah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Caldwell will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridgeport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
