Mid Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Lakeland since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Spartans will look to defend their home field against the Chiefs at 2:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Mid Valley's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Lakeland has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Lakeland's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Mid Valley hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Spartans never let Western Wayne get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Spartans have won 12 games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Hazelton was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. In other batting news, Elise Larson was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Mackenzie Adolfson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Mid Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Wayne only managed five hits.

Lakeland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mid Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Lakeland, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Mid Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Chiefs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mid Valley took their victory against Lakeland in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
