Make it ten blowout wins for the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs this season. Everything went their way against Morrill on Saturday as Gordon-Rushville made off with a 65-43 victory. Gordon-Rushville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Gordon-Rushville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Trinity, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trinity has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mckinley Grover, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Morrill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Katelyn Walker, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Kinzley Hess who scored 14 points along with four steals. Hess is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklin Hess, who scored seven points.
Gordon-Rushville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Morrill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gordon-Rushville will take on the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morrill, they and the Bobcats will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hemingford is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
