On Tuesday, West Phoenix took a serious blow against Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, falling 64-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Phoenix has scored all season.
Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Branden Trujillo, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. The game was Trujillo's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Camren Houser was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
West Phoenix bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Glenview College Prep the next time they take the court. West Phoenix will head out to face Glenview College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
