The Palma Chieftains will head out on the road to face off against the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Palma nor Pajaro Valley posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Palma fell victim to Monterey's stalwart defense on Wednesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell just short of the Dores by a score of 1-0. Palma has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Pajaro Valley's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They suffered a tough 4-1 defeat at the hands of King City.
Palma's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9-3. As for Pajaro Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-5 record this season.
Palma skirted past Pajaro Valley 2-1 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palma since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
