The Sneads Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty County Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Sneads came up short against Maclay and fell 44-37. Sneads has struggled against Maclay recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gabby Bellamy, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carrington Scott, who scored 8 points.
Liberty County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They blew past St. John Paul II 36-16. The win made it back-to-back wins for Liberty County.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleigh Peddie, who scored 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Peddie has scored at least 25% of Liberty County's points. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Flowers, who scored 11 points.
The losses dropped Sneads to 1-2 and Maclay to 5-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Sneads haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Liberty County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 0 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
