The Lindhurst Blazers will head out to take on the Rio Vista Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Lindhurst put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 30-21 margin over San Juan. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blazers.

Emiliano Zermeno made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lindhurst's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 4-15 when he doesn't). Zermeno was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Betancourt, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Lindhurst is undefeated when Betancourt posts two or more runs, but 2-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Martin Rodriguez-Carrillo, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Lindhurst kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rio Vista made easy work of Bethel on Monday and carried off a 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like Lindhurst, Rio Vista also got a great game from a two-way player: John Brimmer. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brimmer has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Emmett Medders was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Leland Jennings was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Lindhurst pushed their record up to 8-15 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Vista, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lindhurst has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Rio Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lindhurst might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Rio Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
