On Monday, the Haysville Campus Colts's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Derby by a score of 59-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Haysville Campus.
Haysville Campus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrell Burton, jr led the charge by scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burton, jr has scored at least a third of Haysville Campus' points. Another player making a difference was Kaason Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight steals and six assists.
Haysville Campus' win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Derby, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haysville Campus will take on South at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. Derby won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hutchinson at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
