Sadly, the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thomasville.
Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was MacKenzie Dumbuya, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Da?nysa Holloway, who scored three points along with 15 rebounds and seven steals.
Even though they lost, College Prep & Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Thomasville, their victory ended a 22-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-18.
College Prep & Leadership Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-40 win vs. Cornerstone Charter on the 9th. Thomasville will head out on the road to take on East Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Davidson and Thomasville are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
