Izzy Whitaker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Whitaker was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sydney Wood was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Olivia French was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Mountain Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in April, winning 11-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
