The Big Sky Eagles will square off against the Capital Bruins at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Sky's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Capital's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Thursday, Big Sky came up short against Glacier and fell 8-5. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Sadie McGuinn and Hailey Nicoson did some serious damage despite the final result: McGuinn went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Nicoson went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that McGuinn launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Weaver, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Capital never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Flathead on Friday. They put the hurt on the Braves/Bravettes with a sharp 19-9 victory. With that win, the Bruins brought their scoring average up to 8.8 runs per game.
Calyse Hendrix tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Capital got a massive performance out of Ella Krepps, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Krepps a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ali Miller, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.
Capital always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flathead only posted an OBP of .414.
The victory got Capital back to even at 2-2. As for Big Sky, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Big Sky came up short against Capital in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 6-1. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
