Newton won the last time they faced Heritage and things went their way on Friday too. The Rams blew past the Patriots 54-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Patriots are ranked 309th).
Newton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Hartsfield, who rushed for 104 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. Hartsfield is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Darius White helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown.
