Given Harding's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Villa Angela-St. Joseph is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ny Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. He set a new season high mark in steals with four. Naujeat Jones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Villa Angela-St. Joseph's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Shenker, who scored 19 points. The match was Shenker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quandell Wright, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Harding's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Harding will be home for the holidays to greet Alliance at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they will head out on the road to face off against Euclid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Euclid is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
