Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Corbin Redhounds a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kenzie Williams, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Corbin off the board. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bailey Frazier was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Morgan Jackson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
South Laurel pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Corbin, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
