The Fort Lauderdale Flying L's were the 46-36 winner over the Piper Bengals when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Fort Lauderdale fell 42-34 to Piper on Thursday. Fort Lauderdale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Piper found their leader in underclassman Catalina Robilio, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Robilio scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazell Charles, who scored ten points.
Fort Lauderdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Piper, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Fort Lauderdale will square off against Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Springs Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Lauderdale in Florida (Coral Springs Charter is ranked 159th, while Fort Lauderdale is ranked 514th). As for Piper, they will be playing at home against Pompano Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
