The Sto-Rox Vikings waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Steel Valley 54-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sto-Rox also won the last time the pair played last Monday.
Robert Sykes Jr was a one-man wrecking crew for Sto-Rox as he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sykes Jr has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamont Goodwine, who scored seven points along with 12 assists.
Sto-Rox is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Steel Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sto-Rox won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Westinghouse has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Steel Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
