Port St. Joe is a perfect 7-0 against Vernon since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tiger Sharks will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Port St. Joe will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Port St. Joe is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-3 margin over FAMU DRS on Tuesday. The Tiger Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Christina Clayton was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Clayton was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hallie Mize was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Annie Gainer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Port St. Joe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Vernon couldn't beat Wewahitchka on Thursday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fourth inning. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Gators, falling 18-11. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Elena Dean made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lila Owens was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.
Port St. Joe's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Vernon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Port St. Joe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Vernon, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will Port St. Joe keep running through batters, or will the Yellowjackets buck the trend?
Everything went Port St. Joe's way against Vernon in their previous matchup back in February, as Port St. Joe made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tiger Sharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
