After losing to the Sunrise Mountain Miners the last time they met, the Eldorado Sundevils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Eldorado came out on top in a nail-biter against Sunrise Mountain on Wednesday and snuck past 51-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eldorado.
Eldorado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamarion Durant, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Durant has scored at least 25% of Eldorado's points. Jaquez "JJ" Lavoll was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.
Sunrise Mountain's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryan Stovall, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Redic, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Eldorado now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sunrise Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Eldorado will head out on the road to face off against Cimarron-Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunrise Mountain and Western will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allowing an average of 50.5 points per game, Western has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
