Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canton). Everything went their way against the Stoughton Black Knights on Monday as they made off with a 13-4 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kyle Redquest tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Andrew Gillis was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JT Norton, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Canton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
