It was a good run, but the Floresville Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 44-30 bruising from Devine. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Floresville of the 45-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Floresville still got an impressive performance from Jordin Johns, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Johns is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jia Johns, who scored four points along with three steals.
Floresville's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12. As for Devine, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.
Floresville will be playing in front of their home fans against Somerset at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1136th, while Floresville is ranked 429th). As for Devine, they will head out on the road to challenge Uvalde at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Uvalde: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Devine has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
