The Archie Whirlwinds will venture away from home to face off against the Stockton Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Archie made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kingsville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Archie was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Kingsville on Wednesday.
Kyleigh Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Morgan Mattingley was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Shelby Newport was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Archie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingsville only posted a batting average of .318.
Meanwhile, Stockton narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Liberal 11-10. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Stockton got a massive performance out of Raelyn Henderson, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Lee, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
The win made it two in a row for Stockton and bumps their season record up to 5-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Archie, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Archie might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Stockton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Archie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
