Basketball Recap: Tri-County Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Grayson Schneider and Clayton Atkinson

Tri-County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 55-44 to the Rossville Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 62-39 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Clayton Atkinson and Grayson Schneider certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Atkinson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Schneider posted 12 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Schneider a new career-high in blocks (two).

Rossville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Skinner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Skinner is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. Brayden Thiele-Hahn was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Tri-County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rossville, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-0.

Tri-County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-46 loss against Twin Lakes on the 13th. As for Rossville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-21 victory against North White on the 7th.
