4A Region 6 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Germantown extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 6 this week by beating Magee, 27-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Mendenhall led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Florence. Khadarel Hodge threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 87 yards in the win.
Julius Craft was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers beat the Eagles. Craft racked up six receptions for 154 yards. Kendrick Feazell helped Mendenhall's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Tommy McCaplin was the most productive running back in 4A Region 6 this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 230 yards as Port Gibson topped Florence. Teammate Arthur Turner added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Steve Pruett's team's Cole Robinson and Dalton Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Robinson has thrown for 1544 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 41 catches for 848 yards. Raymond's Savon Robinson leads the league in rushing yards with 867.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Paul Purvis' team takes on the Trojans. The Tigers are currently in fourth, while Magee is in second.
