The HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots struggled with assists on Saturday (Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. HomeSchool Resource Center took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats. HomeSchool Resource Center has not had much luck with Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
HomeSchool Resource Center lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Fredrick Jefferson, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Jefferson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason O'Neal, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, HomeSchool Resource Center were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 20 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Luke Owen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That's the first time this season that Owen pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wampner, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
HomeSchool Resource Center has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. HomeSchool Resource Center will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Illinois C at 6:45 p.m. on January 15th. Illinois C comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats, they will head out on the road to take on Bloomington South at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bloomington South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats in Indiana (Bloomington South is ranked 103rd, while Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats is ranked 253rd).
