The Bainbridge Bearcats struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Colquitt County Packers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bainbridge took a hard 53-35 fall against Colquitt County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bainbridge in their matchups with Colquitt County: they've now lost five in a row.
Kyra Green and Miyah Williams certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Green scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Williams scored nine points along with three steals. Green continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ahleah Jones was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Amira Walters- Smith was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with three steals for Colquitt County. The matchup was Walters- Smith's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caylnn Singletary, who scored seven points along with five assists.
Bainbridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Colquitt County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Colquitt County, they will square off against Worth County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Worth County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Colquitt County is ranked 35th).
