Softball Recap: Hempfield Area Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

There's no place like home for Hempfield Area, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pine-Richland Rams a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by nine runs or more this season.

Reagan Reamer was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Claire Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Hempfield Area's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pine-Richland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
