Irondale is 1-7 against White Bear Lake since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Irondale Knights will head out on the road to take on the White Bear Lake Bears at 7:00 p.m. Irondale is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses.
Irondale pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-59 bruising from Mounds View. While losing is never fun, Irondale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Mounds View is ranked 75th).
Irondale might have lost, but man, Jake Dedominces was a machine: he scored 34 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dedominces has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahir Paye-baker, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, White Bear Lake had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 63-58 victory over Stillwater on Tuesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win White Bear Lake has managed all season.
Irondale's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for White Bear Lake, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-12.
Irondale couldn't quite finish off White Bear Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 57-55. Can Irondale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
